It remained a reliable partner for its customers, despite the major challenges in energy markets.  Its key financial figures also improved significantly in the 2021/22 reporting year. The terrible conflict in Eastern Europe is having global repercussions on an unprecedented scale. It has upended the market for gas procurement right in the middle of the financial year. Issues such as the security of supply and high energy prices have taken centre stage, pushing the discussion about the climate into the background. These events highlight the fundamental role that energy plays in international relations and makes Switzerland’s position – with its tense relationship with the EU – all the more complex. At the same time, the need for exchange is more urgent than ever before.
